Meditation really began to gain traction in Western culture during the 1960s. The 60s was a decade of exploration, experimentation and expansion of the mind. When the biggest celebrities of the era The Beatles advocated meditation it quickly became the latest craze. While most crazes die out quickly meditation is most definitely here to stay. A 2007 survey produced by the U.S. government found that over 9% of the population had meditated in the last twelve months. That’s over twenty million people in America alone who mediate in the Western world.
For day 2 set 15 minutes aside. Day 2 can also be done with music or in front of the TV, and it’s going to be the same as yesterday with one key difference: you’ll be doing it in the standing mindfulness meditation baltimore position. Stand shoulder width apart and with good posture. Men put your right hand on your stomach, about an inch bellow your belly button and your left hand on top of your right. Women do the same, with the hands reversed, that is the left hand on your stomach with the right hand on top. Do 15 minutes of deep breathing, with good posture, in this position.
Exercise 1: Do your deep breathing while lightly and rapidly rubbing your palms together. After a few minutes continue deep breathing and put your palms an inch apart, facing each other as though you were holding a large lump of clay. As you breathe in let your palms naturally separate and as you breathe out bring them together. Focus on your deep breathing and on energy travelling around your body. Start to feel a ‘pressure’ between your palms.
Binaural meditation is a bit like using music to meditate, but it uses what is known as binaural beats. With the use of binaural beats, you will be able to put yourself in relaxation mode. Individuals who use binaural meditation are surprised with how powerful it is as it quickly transforms them into a calming state.
Changing yourself means changing your perception level and understanding level, your perception towards yourself, your life, death and god. You will have higher understanding towards all situations and so called problems in your life. Result would be you will not suffer anymore in the same situation you will be blissful with high energy level and your growth will happen.
I started to question all of this. How could I be so aware of what was happening? How could I know exactly what to do? I’ll admit, it took awhile, but I realized that what was happening was happening from inside, from listening to my inner self.
Repeat day 12 but this time, try to feel the energy that passes through your body and make it go all the way to your palms as you breathe out. As you breathe in, feel it pass from your palms back into the centre of your body so that it can repeat the cycle again.
So take some moment at the beginning of your meditation and reflect on your intent, the very reason why you are sitting down and going within. Focus on it and let yourself connect to feeling it. Let this feeling of spiritual desire carry you all the way in.
