When it comes to candle making scents the best possible thing to use are oils. Fragrance oils mix well in to the wax and they provide a strong and recognizable scent that fills the room and even the home as the candle burns. You do, however, have other options around your home if you do not want to buy oils anytime soon. You can simply use different extracts such as almond, lemon, or vanilla extract. These will do the job and create a pleasing fragrance for your candles. This article is going to focus on using oils for candle making scents.
I know you are asking yourself this question: What if I want to make strong scented candles and heavier embed materials, what grade will I be using? Don’t forget that you still have one density candle left. And this density gel will answer your question. The High Density candle, also known as the CHP grade can hold up to 5% of fragrance and hold your embeds strongly because it has a high polymer quantity.
Step # 2. Now prepare the wax. Cut pieces of the gel wax in to the top pan of the double boiler, then fill the bottom pan of the double boiler with water. When you have done this then place the double boiler on to the stove top and bring the heat up as you want the water to boil.
After the cinnamon and nutmeg candles are poured, add about a tablespoon of your pumpkin oil to the wax and mix thoroughly, then pour into your third mold. Let these all cool then float in water and light. Since you didn’t add color this can really confuse your friends (everyone is used to pumpkin candles being brown), enjoy!
Don’t ever think that since gel candles are different from wax candles, it’s difficult to get supplies. You are definitely wrong! Gel Candle making supplies are readily available in department stores or hobby craft stores or you can buy them from online candle making supplies websites.
A Mold ( You are going to need three of these, each one larger in width then the other but all the same height. For example you can use a soda can, then an energy drink can, then a coffee can. As long as they are all the same height, or at least a height that you can work with, then you are all good.
Step # 8. Now what you are going to do is repeat steps # 1 through # 6. When You do this you should use the second darkest color and the second strongest fragrance as this is going to be the middle layer. The only difference that is going to take place is as follows. You are going to use the second largest mold and put the candle that you already made in to the center of it. When the wax that you have just made is all melted and prepared with the scents and the color that you want then take your time and pour it in to the mold. Pour it all around the other candle. Now once again put it to the side and leave it for 24 hours.
Once the wax is melted and ready to pour, you will need a mold or container prepared. Votive kits usually come with a set of votive molds and pre-tabbed wicks that you simply secure to the bottom of the mold before pouring the wax. There is a wide range in prices for candle kits based on how inclusive they are. For lower priced kits, you will probably have to furnish your own equipment. Things like the thermometer and a double boiler pot might be items you already have and can use only for candle making. Some of the popular kits which are available in market today are Beeswax Candles Kit, Gel Making Kits and Marbled Candle Kit.
